Twenty Questions

The power of a question is an amazing thing. It is amazing how one properly asked question can begin an important conversation.

Do you like being asked questions? I love them – especially if it is a good one from someone who wants to learn and is seeking truth.

I have shared with people on more than one occasion, “I can answer any question asked of me.” That sounds pretty bold. However, I can make that statement because my answer to any question is (A) The truth (if I know the answer), or (B) I do not have a clue. Let’s see if we can work together to find the answer.

When our son Greg was young and in elementary school, I would take him to school and Pat would pick him up. When she did, she was super curious about how his day was.

I remember on one occasion, Greg came to me and said something like this: “Dad, you have to help me out. When mom picks me up from school, it is one question after another. By the time we get home, she has asked me twenty questions.” From that experience, Pat earned the nickname Twenty Questions.

What we discovered was, Greg would tell us anything we wanted to know about his day and what was on his mind, if we gave him time to unload when he was ready.

Today, I will be in my office at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Normally, Friday is my day off and out of the office. However, today, Good Friday, I will be in my office from 8:00 – 5:00 ready to answer your questions.

If you have a spiritual or biblical question you have always been wanting to ask, today is a special day for you. My office number is 812-533-2252. All you have to do is punch in those numbers and I will be ready to try and answer your question(s).

When you call, if I am answering another person’s question, I will have a helper ready to receive your call. You can share your question with my helper or chat a bit until I am off the phone. If you do not have time to wait, you can leave your number and I will call you back.

You might wonder, “Why is he doing that?” The number one reason is, I want you to have a Good! Friday. I have punctuated it that way because on this Good Friday, I really hope and pray it will be a good one for you.

If you have a question bugging you, if you would like to know more about the Lord, if you find yourself abnormally (in a good way) interested in spiritual things, then I want to be available to you in any way I can.

So, call me up. Talk to me. Your question or comment may be brief or complex, but I look forward to hearing from you
